Partly Facetious: Who would Imran Khan elect?
"The Prime Minister says he will lead the war on terror."
"Well, that's kind of brave. I mean he has made himself a target hasn't he?"
"I don't think it was a matter of bravery. It's not as if he was not a target before."
"You are such a Zardi. Never ever give credit to any other political leader."
"Hey, the Zardis are shrinking by the day I hear - granted that it's the normal politics of our politicians but...."
"Don't be facetious; besides Zardari sahib still rules Sindh and let's be honest that province is still available for pickings if you will."
"So you certainly are not a Zardi, but then what are you a Khanzadah?"
"Can't I be neutral?"
"Nope, any criticism of any political leader would leave you open for attacks by his/her party."
"You can drop the 'her' - no political party has a female chair any more."
"I know what these parties should do. Given that they are all for change for the better why don't they elect a female head."
"Wont make a difference. Zardari sahib will elect one of his daughters, Mian sahib will elect his daughter, but the real power would remain in the same hands."
"Who would Imran Khan elect?"
"That's a tough one! Maybe that's why he announced that he would marry after fresh elections. But anyway don't get distracted, going back to Mian sahib leading the war on terror I would like to point out that the first press release issued by the Press Information Department did not mention that the Prime Minister said he would lead the war on terror. It read 'Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said that every citizen of the country, irrespective of his caste, sect or faith, would be protected. "No cause is holier than protecting the life and property of every citizen of Pakistan,"' he was quoted as saying. The revised release had the Prime Minister saying he himself would lead the war against terrorism for his people and country, and would take it to its logical end come what may."
"Hmmm, lessons learned."
"Or personal intervention of PML-N politicians in press releases. I mean the number of daily revised press releases that newspaper reporters receive is rather significant these days."
"So they have time to review press releases but not to deal with the issues that face our political economy..."
"I knew it, you are a Khanzadah."
"I give up."
